Golden Brush 2018

Several thousand people, many TV-crews and journalists and correspondants passed by at First European Shoe Shine Contest in Brussels on Saturday 26.5.2018 . Non-Stop shoe shine on three Royal Shoe Shine Chairs. Among elven "Maîtres Cireur de Chaussures" from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Spain a Jury awarded Roberto Orquera, Angelo Gregorio and Thomas Ganick with a "Golden Brush". In the evening Stanhope Hotel Brussels by Thon Hotels during a reception ESSA-President Marcello Faraggi congratulated shoe shiner and shoemaker Orquera especially for his entrepreneur qualities. Originally from Ecuador he established in Spain with his team for shops. His award was donated by the European Banking Federation. Mr. Gregory from Imola (Italy) was awarded for his special and very nice approach to the customer. He got the "Client Service" brush, which was sponsored by SC Johnson Bama - Woly. Regarding "technique / quality" Mr. Ganick impressed the jury. His brush was sponsored by the German high quality company for shoes and shoes equipment Langer&Messmer.
This event could happen thanks to Mrs. Marion Lemesre from Brussels City Council supporting the First European Shoe Shine Contest in the historical Royal Shoppig Mal Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and the support of Visit.brussels and Choux de Bruxelles.
The benefit of this event will used to finance the next training programm of new shoe shiners, which is supported by Siegol. "We re-invented an old profession“ said Faraggi. "Together we can make our clients even better shine".
